Updated: July 31, 2023

Language learning services are specialized platforms and programs that provide learners with resources and tools to acquire proficiency in a new language. These services offer a wide range of language courses and lessons tailored to different skill levels, interests, and learning goals. Language learning services often utilize interactive methods, such as audio lessons, video tutorials, and gamified exercises, to engage learners and promote active learning. Many platforms also incorporate speech recognition technology to help learners practice pronunciation and speaking skills. With the convenience of online access, language learners can study at their own pace, choose from various languages, and access a wealth of cultural and linguistic resources. Language learning services have become popular tools for individuals, students, and professionals seeking to enhance their language abilities for personal development, academic purposes, or career advancement in today's globalized world.

2018. Duolingo revamped its leveling system

Language learning service Duolingo has recently rolled out one of its most significant updates to date. The introduction of the new tree leveling system allows casual learners to progress through the Duolingo skills tree as they did before, while advanced learners can delve deeper into newly acquired skills. This update aims to cater to the needs of all users, fostering a better learning experience for everyone. Alongside this, Duolingo has also introduced several new exercise types that prioritize listening and pronunciation skills. These include phonetics exercises designed to help learners pronounce specific sounds accurately and an exercise where users tap on words as they listen to them. Additionally, a new exercise focuses on testing listening comprehension rather than individual vocabulary words.
