2012. Citrix released GoToAssist Service Desk
Virtualization market giant Citrix is also known for its web conferencing solutions (GoToMeeting family). This family also includes the remote support service GoToAssist. Today Citrix added online helpdesk-system GoToAssist Service Desk to it. Citrix haven't created it from the scratch (it's not solid for the Giant) but integrated the nice startup Beetil, that it acquired last month. Beetil always described itself as the the world's easiest to use ITIL service management tool. It provides the client portal for ticket submission and communicating with support, knowledge base, collaboration tools for support agents and all this ITIL-stuff for change management, problem management, configuration management and release management. Besides the remote support tool and this Service Desk, the GoToAssist suite includes also the tool for IT infrastructure monitoring.
