2021. Adobe launches free online photo/video editor Creative Cloud Express



Adobe has launched Creative Cloud Express, a mobile and web app that brings some of the best features of the company’s sprawling Creative Cloud Suite and Acrobat PDF tools into a single application to help users quickly create anything from social media posts to promotional posters and videos. Creative Cloud Express replaces Adobe Spark. Using a template-first approach with built-in access to stock images and other assets, Creative Cloud Express is meant to be far more accessible than the individual Creative Cloud apps. The app will come in both a free version and a paid $9.99/month edition with additional capabilities and a library of more complex templates. Access to the new application will also be included in Adobe’s Creative Cloud All Apps and flagship single-app plans.

2021. Adobe is buying Frame.io for $1.28B



Adobe is acquiring Frame.io, a video review and collaboration platform used by over a million customers, for $1.275 billion. Frame.io platform helps creative professionals streamline the video creation process by centralizing media assets, including dailies, scripts, storyboards, work-in-progress and more, while also allowing for frame-accurate feedback and comments, annotations and real-time approvals. The company additionally touts faster upload speeds than other cloud hosting services, like Vimeo, Box, Dropbox and others. Adobe said the combination of its creative software, including Premiere Pro and After Effects video editing products, and Frame.io’s review and approval functionality would “deliver a collaboration platform that powers the video editing process.” The Frame.io web platform was designed to be a part of its customer’s existing processes, by integrating with non-linear editing systems (NLEs) such as Adobe Premiere Pro.


2016. Adobe unveils Spark - creative suite for small/medium businesses


Small and medium-sized businesses now have more free ways to present their stories to customers, with Adobe’s recent announcement of its Spark suite of tools. In addition to web pages and social posts, the tools enable the creation of company event announcements, newsletters, lessons, flyers, brochures, small catalogs and explainer videos. The renamed iOS apps are Spark Post (formerly Adobe Post, released last year), a tool for creating and posting text and graphics to social networks. Spark Page (Adobe Slate from last year) is for generating web pages. Spark Video, called Adobe Voice at its birth in 2014, enables the creation of moving icons, photos, text and graphics, which Adobe calls “animated videos.”
