2019. Online invoicing software Billie raised €30M
Billie, the Berlin-based startup that offers a B2B invoicing and payments platform, has raised €30 million in Series B funding. Claiming to be Germany’s leading “one-stop shop” for handling all outgoing invoices of B2B sellers, including sending invoices, collecting payments and invoice financing, Billie’s customers range from SMEs, large e-commerce players and transnational marketplaces. Billie currently provides two core solutions. The first is a checkout financing solution for B2B online stores, which embeds a financing option in the online checkout process. The second is SME invoice factoring, which the Billie co-founder describes as a fully automated platform that handles all outgoing invoices of SMEs.
2018. Stripe launched online billing tool
Stripe is launching a billing product for online businesses. That’ll allow them to handle subscription recurring revenue, as well as invoicing, within the Stripe platform and get everything all in the same place. The goal was to replace a previously hand-built setup, whether using analog methods for invoicing or painstakingly putting together a set of subscription tools, and make that experience as seamless as charging for products on Stripe. This launch is, in part, a response to customers demanding a billing product that gets all these invoices and subscription expenses into a single spot. Stripe at its heart is an enterprise company, which means it has to keep close tabs on the needs of its customers while still balancing the needs to continue creating new products that small businesses didn’t realize would actually solve those problems in an elegant way.
2015. Freshbooks allowed to invoice clients faster
Online accounting software FreshBooks has added three improvements to make your billing speedier than ever before. With a new search box at the top of the list, you can simply start typing the client you’re looking for and only the people that match your search criteria will appear. Adding a new client right from the New Invoice screen also becomes easier. Now the “New Client” field is right up at the top of your client list to help make creating new clients just that much easier. Besides, now when you update your client’s contact information (such as their address or phone number), the changes will now immediately appear on all unsent invoices for that client. Older invoices that have already been sent will retain the old information by default, although your can manually update them if needed. So if you’re not a fan of doing things twice, this is particularly good news.
2015. E-Invoicing platform Taulia got $15 Million funding
Supplier financing and electronic invoicing startup Taulia raised another $15 million in funding. The company provides a platform that simplifies the process of tracking invoicing and payments made to suppliers. In addition to automating the process, which in turn lowers costs for buyer, the platform also helps suppliers get paid faster by offering short-term financing for approved invoices. Taulia has grown to more than 200 employees, which is double its headcount from a year ago. The company will be using the new funding (again) to continue its international expansion plans.
