2023. ONLYOFFICE Workspace 12.5: enhanced security, optimized document management, Dark theme



The newest version of collaboration platform ONLYOFFICE Workspace 12.5 comes with lots of security and usability improvements across the suite. Now you can set up a limit of unsuccessful login attempts along with blocking time and check period to protect your portal from brute-force attacks. You are also able to input trusted IP addresses for users and admins using different sections. In addition to the existing activation of two-factor authentication, you can select trusted IP addresses for which 2FA is not required as well as users and groups for mandatory 2FA. In the Documents module, you are able to generate multiple external sharing links for the same file. Besides, you can set time limits and passwords for externally shared docs to better protect them. Moreover, it’s now possible to share folders via external links as well (setting time limits and passwords for folders is also available). In this case, all the subfolders and files within them will inherit the external link.


2018. G Suite makes it easier for people without Google accounts to collaborate on documents



Soon it will be easier for people without Google accounts to collaborate on G Suite documents. Currently in beta, a new feature will enable G Suite users to invite people without G Suite subscriptions or Google accounts to work on files by sending them a pin code. Using the pin code to gain access allows invitees to view, comment on, suggest edits to or directly edit Google Docs, Sheets and Slides. The owners and admins of the G Suite files monitor usage through activity logs and can revoke access at any time. According to the feature’s support article, admins are able to set permissions by department or domain. They also can restrict sharing outside of white-listed G Suite domains or their own organization.


2018. Wrike integrates with Microsoft Teams


Own Microsoft's project management tool for Office 365 (Microsoft Planner) - is not so popular yet. That is why integration between team messenger Microsoft Teams and popular project management service Wrike makes sense. First of all the integration allows companies to use single sign-on for Office 365 and Wrike user-accounts. Second, in any Teams chat you can add Wrike's tab with needed project, where you can work with task list and timeline view. Any task can be published to Teams chat for discussion and collaboration. Besides, in Teams chat you can automatically receive project notifications from Wrike. It's very easy to connect Wrike to Teams - it takes just several clicks in the Teams Store.


2018. Microsoft Teams gets a free version


Microsoft followed Slack's strategy and opened a free version of Teams. After all, it’s Slack’s free tier that helped the work chat app gain so much traction so quickly. Signing users up for Teams is way to get more feet into the door of its application ecosystem, which was once ubiquitous in offices. Once they’ve download teams, workplaces will be hooked into the Microsoft 365 suite. 2018. Basecamp improves client collaboration



Working with clients in Basecamp just got a whole lot better. Now you can assign clients to-dos, share files and folders, schedule events and meetings, chat around the Campfire, and even ask clients automatic check-in questions. Everything in a project is now labeled as “private to our team” or “the client can see this”. Plus, to reduce anxiety and prevent “oh shit, they weren’t supposed to see that” moments, everything in a project starts off as private just to your team. Whenever you post something new, you’ll have the option to specify if the client should be able to see it or if it’s private just to your team.


2018. Facebook Workplace gets 50 new app integrations



Facebook has added to its Workplace business software with 50 new app integrations from the likes of ServiceNow, Atlassian’s Jira Cloud and Microsoft Sharepoint. Workplace had only a handful of integrations at first, including Office 365, Salesforce and OneDrive. The new integrations mean that it is extending its focus from collaboration to automation and IT integration, The integrations are available through the new Workplace app discovery portal that include also SurveyMonkey, Cornerstone onDemand, Workday, and Smartsheet.


2018. Asana raised another $75M



Asana, the productivity and collaboration service, is getting $75 million Series D investment. Asana said in a blog post that 45 percent of its 30,000 paying customer base is located outside of the U.S.. Some of its high-profile names include Tesco, Sky, Danone, Chanel and Spotify. In that light, it is planning to introduce Spanish, Portuguese and Japanese versions of its service having recently rolled out support for French and German. This new round included, Asana has now raised $168 million from investors. Business Insider reported that the startup is now valued at $900 million.
