Google Hire

Updated: July 31, 2023

Google Hire was a cloud-based applicant tracking system (ATS) and recruiting software developed by Google. It aimed to streamline the hiring process for businesses, providing tools for recruiters and hiring managers to manage job postings, track applicants, schedule interviews, and communicate with candidates efficiently. Google Hire was integrated with other Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) applications, making it easy for users to access candidate information, resumes, and interview schedules directly from their Google accounts. It also offered advanced search and filtering capabilities to help recruiters find the right candidates quickly. However, in September 2020, Google announced the discontinuation of Google Hire, and it stopped accepting new customers. Existing users were able to continue using the service until September 2021, after which Google Hire was shut down. The closure of Google Hire marked the end of Google's foray into the recruiting software market. Hire was the service that brings the power of Google to recruiting. Hire is an easy-to-use recruiting application to help teams at small to medium business distribute jobs, identify and attract candidates, build strong relationships, and efficiently manage the interview process – using familiar Google solutions such as Google Search, Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets and Hangouts. Create unique hiring stages that match the needs of open positions. Optimize for Google Search and post to job boards.

2017. Google launched recruiting service Hire

Google has introduced a new service called Google Hire, designed to enhance the internal recruiting process for businesses. Similar to other alternatives, Google Hire offers a comprehensive applicant tracking service that seamlessly integrates with G Suite, enabling businesses to communicate with candidates and effectively monitor their progress throughout the interview process. Earlier this year, Google launched the Google for Jobs initiative, along with a job search feature integrated into Google Search, to assist job seekers in finding suitable employment opportunities. Now, Google is introducing this new tool to aid businesses in managing their candidates. However, the feature that remains absent is the ability for businesses to manage job postings directly, including the option to post them directly to Google's new jobs widget in Search. While Google has developed an AI-powered job search engine, it has chosen to collaborate with major online job boards rather than pursuing this functionality.
