2021. Frontify raises $50M to help organizations manage their design and brand assets



Frontify, which provides a cloud-based platform for businesses to centralize and distribute all of their brand assets to those who work in and with their companies, has closed an equity round of $50 million. Frontify’s platform today provides a repository for companies to manage and distribute brand assets used both in-house and by external partners. But what is notable about it — and what sets it apart from a number of other companies providing digital asset management tools (others in the same space include Bynder and Canto) — is that it covers not just digital media files but how they can be and are getting used.


2021. Digital assets platform Finoa raises $22M



Berlin-based digital asset custody and financial services platform Finoa has closed a $22 million Series A funding round. The company says its plan to become a regulated platform for institutional investors and corporations to manage their digital assets and has received a preliminary crypto custody license and is supervised by the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin). Finoa is going up against large players such as Anchorage, Coinbase Custody and Bitgo, exchanges like Binance and Kraken and self-custody solutions like Ledger.


2021. Adobe launches a new, simplified digital asset manager



Adobe has launched of a new asset management tool, Adobe Experience Manager Assets Essentials. That’s a mouthful, but while the company didn’t necessarily simplify the name, the idea here is to give teams that work with lots of digital assets an easier-to-use management experience in the Adobe Experience Cloud than Adobe’s current enterprise-centric asset management tool can offer. In addition, Adobe is also launching the first tool to integrate this new experience: the Adobe Journey Optimizer. This new tool is meant to help users leverage their customer data to build out customer journeys and figure out the best ways to deliver messages and content along that journey.

2018. Dropbox implemented deeper integration with Salesforce



Two weeks ago Dropbox announced its IPO, then it announced a big partnership with Google and now it is integrating more deeply with Salesforce. It involves having Dropbox folders embedded in Salesforce Commerce Cloud and Marketing Cloud giving them a kind of light-weight digital asset management solution. For example, a company’s creative agency could create photos and other assets for a marketing campaign and store them in Salesforce’s marketing cloud. The folder is fully integrated so that if the agency changes one of the assets, which isn’t unusual, and updates their Dropbox folder, the integrated folder in Salesforce updates automatically.

2018. BigCommerce integrated with Akamai Image Manager



BigCommerce announced that it has chosen Akamai, the world’s largest and most trusted cloud delivery platform, to provide Akamai Image Manager to its 55,000+ BigCommerce stores around the world. As part of the agreement, BigCommerce customers will immediately gain access to Akamai’s automated image optimization technology.
