Salesforce launched Marketing Clouds

Salesforce always used to call its products - the Clouds. Until now, Salesforce had 3 product-clouds: Sales Cloud (CRM system), Service Cloud (customer support system) and the Collaboration Cloud (or Chatter). Today the company is launching the new Social Marketing Cloud. It's a combination of two products: the social media monitor Radian6 and cloud CMS for creating websites Siteforce. We have already told a lot about Radian6. Radian6 was acquired by Saleforce earlier this year and it's customer list includes Dell, GE, Kodak, UPS, etc. Radian6 can monitor social networks for mentioning of your brand, company, products, competitors, analyze public opinion, engage in to social conversations. Integration with Salesforce CRM now allows to use Radian6 to create social profiles in CRM and track the history of social communications, send messages to social networks directly from the CRM interface.

Regarding the Sites, it's not a re-branding of the old service Sites. While Sites is a tool for developers who know HTML, CSS and Apex, the new Siteforce - is a tool for marketers, who (without any knowledge of web technologies) can easily create new sites and pages in a visual graphical editor (watch video). Moreover, Siteforce allows you to create not only traditional sites, but also Facebook pages and mobile sites. At the same time, companies don't need not worry about the reliability of the hosting, because the site is working in the scalable Salesforce cloud.

Note that both products are intended for large companies. Because Radian6 is focused on social intelligence, i.e. allows you to find important messages among the hundreds of thousands of social posts. And Siteforce is particularly effective in case where you need to manage not one but many business sites.
