Instagram is a simple way to capture and share the world's moments. Transform your everyday photos and videos into works of art and share them with your family and friends. See the world through somebody else's eyes by following not only the people you know, but inspirational Instagrammers, photographers, athletes, celebrities and fashion icons.
Snapchat is a photo messaging application. Using the application, users can take photos, record videos, add text and drawings, and send them to a controlled list of recipients.
Face to face in the news:
2018 - Instagram gets video chat to strike back at Snapchat
Facebook announced that Instagram is getting support for video chats, among a couple of other new features. Quite a few Instagram users already use the platform’s live video feature to chat with their contacts. Video chat is a pretty straightforward feature that will expand on the existing messaging tools in Instagram. In addition to these video chats, Instagram is also getting an improved Explore tab that is more focused on the things you are interested in. Recall that Snapchat also recently introduced group video calls for up to 16 people.
2016 - Instagram showed how its business profiles will look like - a new advantage over Snapchat
Instagram business profiles, which are currently being tested with a small group of users, will offer a variety of useful features for those who run a business account on Instagram, including a “Contact” button, access to maps and directions, and the ability to categorize the business by type. The most visible difference between the business profile and a personal one is the new, white “Contact” button at the top of the screen, to the left of the “Follow” button. When pressed, a pop-up menu appears offering directions to the business or the ability to email the account.
