2020. CloudShare extends virtual IT Labs solutions to Google Cloud Platform



CloudShare, a company specializing in specialized cloud environments, has announced its official partnership with Google Cloud. As part of this collaboration, CloudShare's scalable and interactive virtual training solution is now accessible on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This means that software companies can conduct comprehensive training programs using CloudShare's platform on top of the GCP infrastructure. Additionally, CloudShare is actively working on developing transparent training solutions for other leading cloud providers such as AWS and Azure, with plans to release them in the near future.


2017. Skytap raises $45M for its enterprise cloud



Alternative enterprise cloud provider Skytap has secured $45 million in Series E funding, led by Goldman Sachs Private Capital Investing, with participation from existing investors. This latest funding brings Skytap's total funding to $109 million. Skytap competes with major cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. However, Skytap CEO Thor Culverhouse argues that his competitors' clouds were primarily designed for greenfield applications, whereas Skytap was specifically built to cater to Fortune 500 companies aiming to gradually modernize their enterprise applications. The goal is for these enterprises to migrate to the Skytap cloud, embracing new development paradigms like microservices and technologies like software containers.


2014. Skytap gets $35M for its cloud development environment



Skytap, a service dedicated to enhancing the efficiency of enterprise development and test teams, has announced the successful completion of a $35 million funding round led by Insight Venture Partners. Skytap enables enterprises to replicate their production environments in the cloud, enabling more effective testing of applications before they are launched. The company intends to utilize the new funding to drive innovation in enterprise-ready development and test environments, expand its go-to-market capabilities, and establish partnerships with more organizations. Previously known as Illumita, Skytap had previously secured $29.5 million in funding.
