However, Symantec is committed to ensuring a seamless transition for its customers. To facilitate this, the company recommends that pcAnywhere users upgrade to the Bomgar Remote Support Solution and has partnered with Bomgar to offer preferred pricing to customers. It's worth noting that pcAnywhere has encountered its own security breaches in the past. In 2012, Symantec advised pcAnywhere users to disable the software after its enterprise security source code was stolen and publicly disclosed. In contrast, Bomgar's solution adopts an appliance-based model. Unlike a point-to-point approach, which necessitates firewall configuration changes to function over the internet, Bomgar's solution operates without requiring such modifications. Both the customer and support representative connect to the appliance via outbound connections, mitigating the need for firewall adjustments.
