Fiverr
Fiverr is a global online marketplace offering tasks and services, referred to as 'gigs' beginning at a cost of $5 per job performed, from which it gets its name. The site is primarily used by freelancers who use Fiverr to offer a variety of different services, and by customers to buy those services
99designs and Fiverr are both popular online platforms that offer creative services, but they differ in their approach and offerings. 99designs focuses specifically on design-related projects, such as logo design, web design, and graphic design. It operates on a contest-based model, where clients submit their design requirements and designers compete by submitting their work. Clients then select the winning design and award the project. On the other hand, Fiverr is a broader platform that offers a wide range of freelance services across different industries, including design, writing, programming, marketing, and more. Fiverr features fixed-price services called "gigs," where freelancers offer specific services at set prices. Clients can browse through freelancers' profiles, review their portfolio, and directly hire them for their desired gigs.

2021. Fiverr acquires freelance management toolset Stoke Talent for $95M

Following LinkedIn's recent launch of Service Marketplace, a direct competitor to freelance platforms like Fiverr and Upwork, Fiverr has announced an acquisition that demonstrates its commitment to enhancing user experience by incorporating additional features. Fiverr will acquire Stoke Talent, a platform enabling companies to manage their freelance teams, for $95 million. Stoke's toolset offers functionalities such as onboarding new freelancers, facilitating payments through the platform, and tracking overall freelance budgets. The objective is to develop tools that foster stronger integration between employers and Fiverr's freelance marketplace. Stoke will continue to operate independently, but the products will be integrated to allow freelancers hired via Fiverr to onboard and receive payments through Stoke. Additionally, this acquisition aims to deepen Fiverr's involvement in how companies collaborate with freelancers, regardless of whether they are sourced through Fiverr or not.

Fiverr's own online learning platform, Fiverr Learn, will be integrated into CreativeLive to enhance and diversify the educational offerings available following the acquisition.
