Later this month the first project management service based on game mechanics will launch - RedCritter Tracker. In it developers get points and awards (badges) for completed tasks. And it is interesting that at the beginning the awards are created not by company management, but by RedCritter. By default a company has 50 locked badges that can be opened by developers. So the company plays as a team (including the management) against the authors of the game. Potentially, the service can even arrange competition between developer companies. Points earned for completed tasks and projects can be spend in the inbuilt Rewards Store. The rewards are sponsored by the company (not by RedCritter).
