41 Producteev | 39 Evernote |
25.01.12 One of the best online task-managers Producteev has launched the new version. From the start Producteev positioned itself as a super-cross-platform service and promised to support all possible platforms. And the reality of our time is such that the desktop applications for Windows and Mac are coming last (see the screenshot below). Before they appeared, Producteev has come in the Web-interface, on iPhone, Android, Facebook, Outlook, GMail, Google Calendar. For Windows Phone and Blackberry the mobile Web client was created. As for the new version, it's biggest change is updated web interface. It now looks like Outlook - with three columns. Besides now you can add (to-do like) subtasks and use @ and # tags in task titles (like in Twitter) to quickly assign task-owners and tags. Besides, it's now easier to view tasks by specific user. Recall, Producteev offers the free 2-user version. 09.08.11
Do you want your company to use the latest, most effective business technologies? Or you are creating a business application and want to make your product the next big hit? Then you are probably watching the new IT trends. In recent years we saw such emerging trends as SaaS (software as a service), business virtualization (where staff can work remotely), the socialization of business apps, mobile access. What's next? Perhaps it will be the Gamification. 19.05.11 Last week Google released Google Tasks API and it was immediately utilized by the most innovative task-manager - Producteev. Recall Producteev allows to create and access tasks almost from any application and almost on any platform (via messengers, Email-clients, social networks, smartphones). Besides, the service provides very user-friendly interface and allows you to collaborate with your team. Earlier Producteev already released the GMail gadget, which lets you create a task from email. But it requires the browser plugin to install. The new Google Tasks sync feature allows you easily add tasks from GMail or create tasks from emails without installing any plug-ins. 04.06.10 Formerly we called software "cross-platform" if it worked on Windows, Mac and Linux. Then it was thought that all Web services are cross-platform as they work in browser. But today the word "cross-platform" has a new meaning. Virtually all popular applications and Web services have become platforms themselves: Facebook, GMail, iPhone, Sharepoint ... For the modern business application Facebook or Outlook app is as important as Windows client. The task collaboration service Producteev want to use this shift. In addition to "traditional" web interface, it allows you to work with tasks in email, instant messengers, mobile devices and social networks (i.e. in those places where you mostly spend time). | 13.12.11 Recently we told about CardCloud, the service that offers electronic business cards instead of boring and outdated traditional cards. But now the note-taking service Evernote invented even better solution. The free iPhone app Evernote Hello will not only allow you to remember the people that you met at business meeting or conference, but also link them to the notes you have taken during these meetings. It works like this: after talking with someone you take your iPhone, launch Evernote Hello and ask this person to enter his contacts (or you can enter them yourself from his words). Then you can take a picture of this person (or he can do it himself). If he enters the email, the app will automatically send him your electronic card. 30.03.11 After the closure of Google Notebook, Evernote actually became the most popular online notebook. Even having such strong competitors like Zoho Notebook and MS OneNote. The main advantage of Evernote is that it's available everywhere as a native app: on Windows, Mac, Android, iPhone, iPad, Blackberry, Palm, Windows Mobile, as a plug-in for browsers. Of course, the global access to an online notebook, including offline access, is extremely important to users. But the web-client of Evernote was the main reason why the majority of Google Notebook users preferred to stay with it (even after closure) and not move to Evernote. Today Evernote finally has released a normal Web-based app with a convenient interface (like in Outlook). In addition, the web-engine has been completely rewritten and now it works really fast. |
