2018 - Okta teams up with ServiceNow. Your move, Centrify !
Okta and ServiceNow got together to build an app that helps ServiceNow customers using their security operations tools find security issues related to identity and take action immediately. Okta launched the Identity Cloud for Security Operations app today. It’s available in the ServiceNow app store and has been designed for customers who are using both toolsets. When a customer downloads and installs the app, it adds a layer of identity information inside the ServiceNow security operations interface, giving the operations team access to information about who specifically is involved with a security problem without having to exit their tool to find the information.
2014 - Okta launches Mobile Device Management solution to fight Centrify
Okta, which is known as a cloud identity management platform, makes a leap to mobile device management, announcing a new product called Okta Mobility Management that provides a simple way to separate work and personal data, giving IT controls they need over work content without compromising personal content on the phone. Why Okta wants to combine identity management and mobile device management? Until now, if you wanted to use Okta on a mobile device, you would have to go through a web interface to access your company apps. This wasn’t terribly efficient, so Okta created a simple way to get native apps loaded on an employee device, while providing the same single sign-on capability they were getting from a web interface.
